Well, that wasn't a totally unsuccessful first post. Although if you take into account the fact that my intention in posting it was to add that photo to my profile (which I eventually did anyway), and not to actually make a post with that picture (although I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the caption), perhaps you will consider it a greater failure than I do. In any event, this is a somewhat inauspicious start...things will get better, I promise...just bear with me...

(btw, yes, I am stealing Evan's idea of giving all my posts titles which are constitutive of lyrics from songs [although his are commonly {somewhat} bastardized] but he doesn't let many people see his livejournal anyway and so I don't really feel like I'm stealing his thunder...As a part of this structure, I will be giving prizes to the first person who can comment on each post and give me the author/song title/album title of the song which I quote...I dunno, maybe a couple quarters for laundry...it's really all I can spare at this point - Evan, Valerie and Ben are exempted due to prior (and comprehensive) knowledge...sorry.)
